Radiant Typhoon Gameplay Guide

Radiant Typhoon Gameplay Guide

After more than 36 years, MST has finally been negated and now has an entire origin/class system centered around it. Currently in Master Duel, it's a very strong deck with incredibly annoying minion recovery abilities, as well as a single card that pushes the entire enemy field (monsters or spells/traps). Although it doesn't have "Radiant Typhoon" in its name, it integrates very well with other decks.

Sections covered in this guide:

Radiant Typhoon

MST = Mystical Space Typhoon

Small monsters share the following effect: if the enemy has no spells/traps on the field (you play on turn 1 or after clearing all enemy spells/traps), they can automatically jump. Or they will automatically jump from your hand if you have MST in your graveyard.

Magic spells will share the same effect: if this card is destroyed by MST's effect, it will either return itself to the field or search for an MST.

Search 2!

It has the ability to search for monsters/spells/traps like Radiant Typhoon and/or MST , jumps from hand when instant spells are activated, and is a pretty good punching bag on the field. Its body is Winged Beast, so upgrading it to Simorgh will definitely triple its stats.

Radiant Typhoon Meghala (x1)
Card rarity
Radiant Typhoon Meghala
Card rarity
Radiant Typhoon Meghala

It has the ability to summon another Radiant Typhoon from your deck onto the field (with a different name than the monsters already on your field) when Radiant Typhoon Instant Spell or MST is activated.

Since this card needs another card to activate its effect, and can also be searched by another card, x1 is sufficient.

Radiant Typhoon Fonix the Great Flame (x1)

Radiant Typhoon Fonix, the Great Flame

He jumped from the hands and into the grave.

Hand: Jump when instant magic is activated.

Graveyard: When MST is activated, this card will automatically jump from the graveyard.

Not only does this card possess an extremely annoying self-jumping ability, but it also has an even more annoying effect: pushing 2 cards back into the deck. Simply activating the spell will push 2 cards from your opponent's deck. It's your turn to push 2, and your opponent's turn to push 2. In total, this subtracts 4 resources from your opponent's field.

Instead of pushing cards like Fonix , this card negates and destroys monsters.

MST could have been negated!

Once per turn, when MST is activated, you can choose 1 face-up card on your opponent's field, blocking the effect of the card you choose!

And of course, this card in a persistent deck will have a recovery effect, instantly recalling any 3 spell cards from the graveyard (including staples like Called by the Graveyard , as long as those 3 cards include a Radiant Typhoon monster/spell/trap).

After the items are returned, you will get to draw 1.

As for the 300 ATK/DEF boost, I rarely use it; opponents usually surreptit before you even hit them (lmao).

Radiant Typhoon Varuroon the Marine Eidolon (x2)

Radiant Typhoon Varuroon, the Marine Eidolon

Easy to get with just 2 Radiant Typhoon monsters.

It has the ability to search MST and place the monster in the spell/trap zone, an extremely annoying effect. Instead of shuffling it back to the deck, sending it to the graveyard, or banishing it (which might still work), placing it in the spell & trap zone is practically a cook, and it also takes up a spell & trap slot.

Additionally, this card has the effect of directly placing a trap card, allowing MST to negate cards from the deck or graveyard onto the field!

Staple

Shiina Twin Tempests of Celestial Thunder (x3)

Shiina, Twin Tempests of Celestial Thunder

It doesn't have the words "Radiant Typhoon" on it, but it fits the deck and is incredibly powerful.

If your opponent activates a card or effect and you have a WIND monster, this card can automatically jump from your hand (quick effect means it can jump on both your opponent's and your turn).

Opponent's Monster Summoning: Sends all monsters on the field to your hand (except this card).

Opponent activates spell/trap: Returns all spells/traps on the field to their hand.

This is an extremely annoying disruption; after the opponent's combo is almost complete, it pushes everything back to their hand, hard once-per-turn effects cannot be activated, and if the opponent has already used a normal summon, it's very difficult to continue, especially if the opponent is using extra decks.

Negate doesn't happen once per turn; if you have this card, you can summon this card or Mist Valley onto the field repeatedly, which is a real nightmare.

In the past, there were cults who played with Thunderbird ; it's still usable now, but it's much more prone to bricking and spinning.

You can build it at the end of the combo to get Disrupt, or if you have ample resources, build it earlier to block Handtrap, ensuring the combo is easier to execute.

Dirty locks and snatching hands will always prevail.
A brain-draining combo, a lifetime of misery.

This card's effect is a soft once-per-turn effect, meaning if you have 2 copies on the field, you can use it twice, or you can remove the card from the field and drag it back to activate it again (as long as you have Xyz materials).

And since this card's effect has no target and is banish, it's extremely annoying.

Yeah, the trap card restores inventory, it picks up the enemy's spells instantly. If cards that breakboard on turn 2 and are set face down on turn 1 to make things difficult for the enemy keep restoring inventory like this, it's a game for dogs.

This super staple breakboard is great for dealing with large-bodied monsters, or those that stay on the field for too long and flood the field. You'll control them with spells, traps, and handtraps :)

The Winged Beast's mercenary boss, super easy to obtain, you only need one Winged Beast ( Radiant Typhoon Krosea ) as materials.

This card protects the target and also pulls a Winged Beast from your hand or Deck onto the field (Level equal to or lower than the number of unused spell/trap slots on the field). Because of this effect, you can pull any monster you want, even the most evil ones. This is also why this card is popular in TCG.

Eldam jumped straight from Krosea's search results.

Krosea search, Chat and MST .

Chat search Swen , Swen automatically jumps to search Ascendance.

Link 2 goes to Marine Eilodon , search for MST , click Ascendance to search for MST , then chain link 2 MST to fire Ascendance.

Marine Eilodon places a trap card on the field, returns draw 1.

Combo completion: 2 negate, draw 1 + 1 (one more draw on the opponent's turn), Ascendance pulls Krosea back from the graveyard, searches for 1 MST and 1 other card to play again on the next turn.

Prioritize using Droplet to send Fonix to the graveyard, then continuously fire instant spells at the Radiant Typhoon using MST . Both MST and the Radiant Typhoon card are once-per-turn in that they automatically flip themselves over from the graveyard after being hit.

This allows Fonix to jump up from the graveyard and continuously push away enemy cards.

Radiant Typhoon's instant spell cards can also search for MST.

This trick is useful if you use MST chain link 2 to instantly cast Radiant Typhoon spell (chain link 1) and then use droplet chain link 3 to instantly cast Radiant Typhoon spell (chain link 1). Something magical will happen; your opponent will be so shocked they'll surrender. Highly recommended in ranked matches 🐧

If you don't have the MST , and link 2 is negated when searching for MST , then go to one of these two sites.

At this point, you can consider whether to place the trap card face down or keep it in your hand, because placing it face down without using any effect risks getting shot in the next turn, so it's not advisable. However, if there are 3 instant spells in the graveyard to draw 1, you can place it face down.
