Instructions for playing Salamangreat

Instructions for playing Salamangreat

Hello everyone, I am back with a guide article about a line of cards that has been around for a long time, but its combined power is completely strong enough for you to gradually solve. The card line I want to introduce is Samlamangreat - a very famous card deck in the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS.
  • Is the deck's gameplay easy to play? Yes, after reading this article you will understand more.
  • Is the deck strong enough? Yes, it's very strong
The deck doesn't rely heavily on its Normal summons, and the expansion cards work very well to provide additional summons, while also being qualifying materials for Link monsters Salamangreat . In addition, the deck also provides itself with a lot of summons through generations such as Xyz, Fusion, Ritual and finally Link.

"In this article, the content is edited and synthesized from the original content of the article Soulmaker's Salamangreat Strategy from Yu-Gi-Oh! Guidance Vietnam – How to master Yugioh card game . Thank you Ygoguidance for giving us more opportunities and abilities to complete these tutorials!" Article link: https://ygoguidance.com/chien-thuat-salamangreat/

overview

Salamangreat is the prototype line of FIRE Cyberse monsters used by Theodore Hamilton (English version) or Soulburner in Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS . Salmangreat monsters have various effects related to combat and reviving from GY. A common theme with these monsters is that they perform best when Recarnation Summoned ( which is a Link summon with another monster of the same name).

Introduced for the first time in the Soul Fusion set, Salamangreat has not yet proven much of its abilities (most of Salamangreat 's main monsters are mercenaries and the monster array does not really work well). It wasn't until Structure Deck: Soulburner was released that Salamangreat proved its extremely powerful control ability (Soulmaker, 2020).

Salamangreat has always been a mid-range deck; Its game plan is to survive early and eventually use the solidity of the search engine cards to its advantage and win. One of the benefits of that kind of strategy is that you can almost always play in all kinds of situations, because it's so consistent. Salamangreat is completely unaffected by the most recent Banlist & Limit, and it is determined to be an excellent deck going forward.

So let's find out with YGO Vietnam why they are so strong!

Abbreviations

Like the previous articles I have written, this section is absolutely indispensable for you. Common abbreviations will be the names of the cards followed by the word Salamangreat or some card names that are difficult to read
  • Graveyard = GY
  • Lifepoint = LP

Cards to look for (Investment strategy)

What Master Duel brings you will definitely be different from everything you have experienced at Duel Links . The cards will definitely be harder to find, but rest assured. In this part, I will introduce to you what is most necessary so that you can focus on investing in and finding to arrange and build your deck.

Salamangreat monsters

Salamangreat Foxy (2-3x)
N rarity
Salamangreat Foxy
N rarity
Salamangreat Foxy

Searcher was introduced first in the deck. Its first effect is not too impressive, allowing you to look at the first 3 cards of the deck, and then add 1 Salamangreat card from it to your hand, and the remaining cards are shuffled again. Usually we will use the second effect more: while it is in the grave, you can send 1 Salamangreat from your hand to the grave to bring Foxy back to the field, and if necessary, destroy a flipped Spell/Trap card. face up. Mainly to float the field, but if you are locked by Imperial Order or Summon Limit then you can call it up to break in the surprise of your opponent. But the danger of having a lot of Foxy on hand is not small, so the best number to play is 2 copies. Note that you can only use 1 effect and each effect can only be used once per turn.

Salamangreat Jack Jaguar (1-2x)
R rarity
Salamangreat Jack Jaguar
R rarity
Salamangreat Jack Jaguar

Usually called out by Miragestalio (OCG side) but TCG is a bit more difficult. Going back to Jack Jaguar 's effect, usually we will only use its second effect. When 1 Salamangreat Link is on the field and this card is in the grave, you can return 1 Salamangreat from the grave to call Jack Jaguar himself to the field in the space that Link monster pointed to. A great floater, not only that but also a recycler for the deck. But like Foxy , holding a lot of Jack Jaguars is also a disaster, so the amount of play I think is limited to 1 or 2 copies.

Salamangreat Spinny (2-3x)
SR rarity
Salamangreat Spinny
SR rarity
Salamangreat Spinny

Both of Spinny 's effects are worth playing, especially when summoning Link, because it also creates a very fast and good combo for itself in the same turn. It not only has the effect of increasing 500 ATK (very useful in some turns when you need to OTK), but also has the effect of quickly summoning yourself from the grave to the field. Because of such powerful effects, plus the fact that each effect can be used once, this card is well worth having multiple copies of in the deck (preferably 3 copies).

Salamangreat Gazelle (1x)
SR rarity
Salamangreat Gazelle
SR rarity
Salamangreat Gazelle

It is the key card (important card) of the deck, the support card that connects everything in the deck. When a Salamangreat is sent to the Graveyard (from the hand or field, usually), Gazelle can immediately jump to the field, then send a Salamangreat from the Deck to the Graveyard. It can be any Salamangreat monster that can recycle/self-activate effects from the grave, or it can be some Magic/Trap card that Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf can take into his hand (like a Searcher). So). It can be said that thanks to Gazelle , Salamangreat was able to maintain stability to reach the top of the meta for such a (quite long) time.

But why do most decks only use 1 copy of it? The answer lies in the power it brings, so it has been limited to 1 :v

Salamangreat Falco (1x)
N rarity
Salamangreat Falco
N rarity
Salamangreat Falco

Falco 's first effect helps you recycle a used Salamangreat Spell/Trap card, while the second effect allows you to push a Salamangreat back from the field to your hand to call it from the grave. It would be extremely useful...if it weren't for the line " use 1 effect per turn and only once that turn ". So just like Foxy , playing too much Falco causes the risk of bricking to be quite large.

Salamangreat Fowl (0-1x)
R rarity
Salamangreat Fowl
R rarity
Salamangreat Fowl

Fowl 's first effect is used quite a bit due to its usefulness. When a Salamangreat is summoned, this card is called to the field from the hand. Although the effect is interesting at first, Salamangreat actually doesn't need too many Fowls (because Fowls don't play many big roles, plus Salamangreat needs many other Searchers/Floaters due to the limitation of Gazelle and Semi Circle ) and Level 4 is not very nice (to call it Miragestalio , difficult to search by Lady Debug ) so you should only play 0-1 copies.

Fowl 's second effect is quite situational but also useful when facing opponents who use too many annoying backrows. Guarantee your OTK turn.

As for the other Salamangreats , although their effects are quite interesting, they are not very useful for the deck so I will ignore them for now.

Salamangreat Magics

Salamangreat Circle (1x)
SR rarity
Salamangreat Circle
SR rarity
Salamangreat Circle

Circle's first effect makes it one of the deck's main searchers, but that's why it has been Limit 1 so far. Along with that, its second effect isn't too useful. and is rarely used, so this card is usually only used to search for Salamangreat .

Salamangreat Sanctuary (1x)
SR rarity
Salamangreat Sanctuary
SR rarity
Salamangreat Sanctuary

Helps Salamangreat monsters easily activate effects when Reincarnation Link Summon (Reincarnation Link Summon - explained in the overview and description). Searched by Balelynx so the number of players is only 1 (any more will cause bricking) (Soulmaker, 2020).

Will of the Salamangreat (1-3x)
R rarity
Will of the Salamangreat
R rarity
Will of the Salamangreat

If you play Flame Buffalo then play this card. Helps you "recycle" Salamangreats that have been "dropped" to the grave thanks to Buffalo's ability to continue activating effects or summon Link to new monsters.

Playing 1-2 copies of it, it is rare to see any player play the third card because the brick rate is quite high.

Salamangreat Pitfalls

In reality or if you look at the TCG/OCG Salamangreat decks there are only 2 trap cards of this archetype that are used - Salamangreat Roar and Salamangreat Rage .

Salamangreat Rage and Salamangreat Roar (Đều nên sử dụng từ 1-2x)

Salamangreat Roar

  • For Rage, we will mostly use the second effect. Rage helps us shoot a number of cards on the opponent's field exactly equal to the number of Link Markers of the Reincarnation Link summoned monster. A very interesting effect to avoid Eldlich's effect, but the effect of Eldlich traps has the ability to restock so it is not very valuable in this metagame.
  • For Roar, the Counter effect is quite good, plus Spell Speed 3 is very interesting and annoying to many Decks. The recycling ability is very good (when 1 successfully summons Reincarnation Link ), plus the ability to self-recycle/recycle through Sunlight Wolf , you don't need to play too much Roar.

Tech

Lady Debug (2-3x)

Its effect makes this card a great searcher for Cyberse decks. However, for Salamangreat , it will slightly hinder Link's summoning. That's why your Extra Deck will have a number of monsters other than Salamangreat .

Works well with Salamangreats due to the same Type and Attribute. Helps you get rid of excess Cyberse and gives you 2 more good draws. In addition, it also helps you activate Gazelle's effects more easily.

  • Formud's first effect changes its properties to make it easier to summon Salamangreat , but it's a bit rarely used, so let's move on to the second effect. When this card is sent to the grave as a Link Summon material (usually for Balelynx), you gain 1 Cyberse of Level 5 or higher from the deck. The only card you need to search for is Parallel eXceed (if you play the version that uses Parallel eXceed ).
  • Helps you quickly reach Xyz Rank 4 when you successfully summon Link. Xyz Rank 4 goals are varied, such as

    • Number 41 (helps lock the field, plus you are not affected much because we only play around Magic/Traps/Link Monsters)
    • Abyss Dweller (grave lock)
    • Number 60 (retract 1 monster from the grave/buff attack to OTK/increase draws to combo)

Otherwise, you can continue to use them as materials to summon Link.

Therefore, the number of players is: Formud plays 1, Parallel eXceed plays 3. (If Formud is not played, then play 0-0)

Micro Coder (1x)

This is just an interesting suggestion I'm showing you if your Extra Deck comes with multiple "Code Talkers". This card will allow you to summon Link, use it in your hand for a "Code Talker" and then search for a "Cynet" card (usually Cyner Mining ) for your future combo. A quite useful card and also an alternative backup plan, if you like, use it.

Sea Archiver (1-2x)
SR rarity
Sea Archiver

A suggestion to quickly summon Link or Xyz Rank 3 from hand. Although it has a different Attribute, being a Cyberse itself is enough to be able to summon other Extra Decks. Not only that, 2100 DEF is also quite helpful if the opponent summons a monster to the box that Link Marker points to during their turn.

These cards themselves have been used a lot in game formats and especially the current meta. With your great handtrap effects, you definitely have to spend at least 2 copies of each card, sometimes 3 copies instead of 2 more. Which cards can disable summoning effects, add cards, send cards to the grave, which can also disable card effects, which can draw cards, lock the field, increase LP,...

Comes well with Micro Coder if you want it in your deck, otherwise you can still use Cyner Mining normally with 3 copies. Be a searcher for the Salamangreat . Not only that, it makes it easier to activate Gazelle's effect (1 Salamangreat is sent from hand to grave).

A rather situational tech card but extremely useful in the deck and in the meta. Because your Salamangreats will definitely have to face handtraps like I introduced above. That's why this card was born with diverse effects of up to 3 effects. Depending on the situation, choose but I will choose effect 2 to get yourself an extra free Link summoning material.

If you don't want to lose LP, use Torrential Tribute , or if you want to be stronger, use Solemns.

If you want to go the Synchro direction, consider adding these two cards to your deck. Synchro's use of these cards helps you increase your LP. Also increase your combo thanks to Hourse Prince, where the effect allows summoning 1 level 3 FIRE to the field for free. Although you cannot summon level 5 monsters, you can still quickly summon Link and Xyz.

Salamangreats are mainly Link monsters (Except Miragestallio) and also need many copies to quickly summon Recarnation Link so they are mostly played with 2 or more copies (Except Miragestallio which is 1 due to Limit) .

  • Balelynx is a good searcher for Sanctuary. With an interesting protection effect, and easy summoning conditions (1 Level 4 Cyberse or lower), it is not difficult to understand why Balelynx is always played 3.
  • Sunlight Wolf is the trump card of the Deck. When a monster is summoned to the space this card points to, you get 1 FIRE from the grave to your hand (including Ash), but you cannot summon that monster until the end of your turn. But the effect that makes Sunlight Wolf great is its second effect. When this card is summoned Reincarnation Link , you get 1 Salamangreat Spell/Trap from the grave! It could be Roar to counter, Rage to attack, Circle to continue searching, etc. From there we can see an extremely close connection in the deck: Gazelle sends 1 Magic/Trap to the grave, Sunlight Wolf "picks up" that piece back into his hand. It can be said that Sunlight Wolf is not only a recycler of the deck, but also a searcher when accompanying Gazelle. That's also the understandable reason why searchers say Gazelle is hit :v (Soulmaker, 2020)
  • Heatleo's first effect allows you to shuffle a card in your opponent's backrow into the deck, causing quite a bit of discomfort for your opponent, forcing them to activate the card you are targeting. The second effect is when Reincarnation Link is summoned, you can exchange the ATK of 1 monster on the field with the ATK of 1 monster in the grave. Quite useful when preparing to finish off an opponent.
  • Pryo Phoenix has pretty good stats and a very strong burn damage effect. However, there is also a situation where if you summon an opponent's strong monster and have an unpleasant effect, that's fine. The effect when summoning Recarnation Link is also very good to destroy the entire opponent's field.
  • The Miragestalio effect is very cool, allowing you to summon 1 Salamangreat from the deck by detaching 1 material, and the limit is that you are not allowed to activate the effects of other monsters except FIRE (this is an extremely loose limit). . With this effect, you can call out Jack Jaguar, Gazelle,.. easily. Best of all, you can push a monster back to your hand when this card is used as material for Salamangreat 's Link summon. This is an extremely useful monster in the Deck that you cannot ignore.

In general, you will often use your Extra Deck with Rank 4 to hold off your opponent or Sunlight Wolf to gain more resources for later.

  • Number 60: Dugares the Timeless allows you to continue pushing damage if your turn is interrupted or to build up more defense by drawing more cards.
  • With Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir you just have to sit and wait for everything, this happens more often than you can imagine (No effects affect it, turn all monsters into defense and punches) . It's also extremely strong in matches that don't eliminate your core.

Most of your main staple card will be Accesscode Talker, which quickly gets used in almost every deck. With 2300 ATK and a 1000x ATK increase the Link Rating of Link Monsters used as materials is crazy when it's combined with Accesscode's feedback immunity. Normally, you would summon Accesscode with a combination of Update Jammer and Sunlight Wolf , so it would gain 4300 ATK, clear two cards from your opponent's field, and make up to two attacks.

However, there are still many other cards used to replace Accesscode, which may save you more money, such as:
  • Topologic Bomber Dragon (high stats, good burn damage effect after killing a monster on the opponent's side. There is also a monster clearing effect if a monster is summoned to any box 1 Link Marker is pointing at)
  • Topologic Zeroboros (High stats, good ATK increase for each banished card. Also clears the field and helps you just wait for the time to OTK)
  • Borreload Dragon (High ATK, resistance to effects, also debuffs opponent's monster's ATK to quickly attack and then takes the opponent's monster to your field, preparing to summon Link for the next turn)
  • Borrelsword Dragon (immortal and has a pretty good ATK increasing effect + 2 attacks makes OTK and clearing the field never been easier)
  • Unchained Abomination (every time something other than this card is destroyed, it can destroy another card on the field - mostly very effective but requires timing)
  • Mekk-Knight Crusadia Avramax (resistance to effects and protecting your monsters, especially if you get hit, Crusadia will attack that monster. And if Cruasadia goes to the grave, it will target 1 card on the field and shuffle it again)

Normally you won't need too many Xyz monsters in this deck because Link monsters already take up too much of the spotlight. But here, if you really want to use Xyz monsters to level the field, use Zeus - a monster that is almost the mainstay of every Xyz deck. Zeus's summoning condition is very easy to fulfill when you can use 1 Xyz monster to summon it if an Xyz monster attacks (ie can use 1 monster when summoning)

Its ability to clear the field is very strong, especially it doesn't explode or destroy anything, just "send" everything to the grave. And this ability can be used multiple times as long as you have enough friends to charge it as materials.

Final thoughts

First of all, thank ygoguidance for helping us compile this article. Salamangreat is a line of cards with strength stats that are quite worth playing in the current meta. Despite many weaknesses such as being unable to resist handtraps and easily losing resources, the deck's good field control and versatility cannot be denied. In general, if a newbie is starting to choose which deck to invest in when starting Master Duel, this will be a good candidate.
