Instructions for playing Dragon Link (with the main engine being Rokket)

Dragon Link! Dragon Link! Dragon Link! A name that has been making waves in all meta domains in the past 2 years. A line of reviews is quite stable even if it is nerfed over and over again and yes, if you are a newbie then I recommend you try investing in this line because it only has a few simple combos. , your name will shine brightly on the gold rankings.

The main engine of today's card line will be Rokket Dragon , with Dragon monsters that self-destruct, and carry powerful destruction effects, float, discard, draw,... Rokket Dragon has long been the backbone of the card game. Dragon Link. That's why today, I would like to bring to you, especially newbies who don't know how to play Master Duel and are new to the game Master Duel, an article about powerful dragons - Dragon. Link !!!

overview

overview

As its name suggests, Dragon Link is mainly about summoning Link to powerful main dragons. Based on Rokket Tracer , you will quickly go from Link 1 to Link 4 quickly and easily. Not to mention, the card line also has Xyz and Synchro variations that come with it. Use Rokket Synchron and Absorouter Dragon to switch between these two variations.

To be more precise, the Dragon Link card line is actually just the Rokket Dragon card line, but it is supported, upgraded and developed a lot thanks to other card lines and archetypes, helping to make the deck consistent. more, more flexible and faster. However, there are still many variations of the deck that come with many different card lines. Therefore, stay tuned in the future, there will be many more variations of this line of articles!

Like the previous articles I have written, this section is absolutely indispensable for you. Common abbreviations will be the names of Dragon Links or some hard-to-read card names

  • Level = lvl or Lvl

Rokket Beast

Rokket Tracer (3x)
SR rarity
Rokket Tracer
SR rarity
Rokket Tracer

The main Searcher and Floater of the deck, have the ability to pop 1 card on the field to completely summon 1 Rokket in the deck, very suitable for quickly bringing a body to Link quickly to 1 of your main high Link monsters, possibly are Borrelsword , Accesscode ,...

Sometimes, the card you want to turn on when using Tracer's effect is a magic/trap card on the field (this combo will be discussed later) or Absorouter to use its effect, bring Rokket Synchro to your hand and continue. Continuing to use Rokket Synchron brings Absorouter back up with many monster summon options.

The ability to search and thin makes it a card worth playing with 3 copies.

Rokket Recharger (1x)
N rarity
Rokket Recharger
N rarity
Rokket Recharger

Aside from its rather situational floater ability, this is probably the card that wastes your Normal summons the most. But it also cannot be ignored that no card can punch it when a DARK monster from the Extra Deck is on the field.

However, because it is not too necessary, it is best to only use 1 copy of it to add body to Tracer.

Rokket Caliber (1-2x)
R rarity
Rokket Caliber
R rarity
Rokket Caliber

A good Rokket to be summoned by Tracer and you can use it to debuff a DARK Dragon, Machine brick in your hand. Not to mention, its special summoning effect seems to be used quite a lot due to the nature of this deck relying on Link monsters.

On the other hand, this is a Tuner to replace Synchron and Tracer, accompanied by another level 4 Dragon for synchro (or Xyz). Therefore, it is best for me to recommend that you use 2 copies of it.

Noctovision Dragon (3x)

Noctovision Dragon

Noctovision has a faster summon speed because the monsters in your deck are special summoned quite well with the effects of Rokket anyway. Not to mention, it also provides backrow or face-up monsters with good protection and gives you a free draw if you use it to summon Link.

Because you don't have to worry too much about its level when you can summon it at will, it is recommended to bring 3 copies with you.

Chaos Space

This is the main support line for Rokkets in many, many situations and competitive matches. They pair effects together very well and create extremely powerful combos.

  • Collapserpent will banish 1 LIGHT monster to summon itself to the field. Use it to summon Link and bring Wyverburster to hand.
  • Wyverburster will also banish 1 DARK monster to summon itself to the field. Due to the nature of the deck mainly consisting of DARK monsters, this should be the card that starts your combo. Use it to summon Link and bring Collapserpent to your hand.
  • Levi will consume more grave resources when having to banish up to 3 monsters to bring it onto the field. However, based on the current field situation, you should banish the appropriate type of monster to use Levi's effect.
  • Chaos Space is what binds all three monsters above together. Searching for cards will create good conditions for you to start the combo. Not only that, but it also helps recycle them and gives you a free draw. It's so useful that we need to promote the use of 3 copies of it.

The Engine Red-Eyes line helps supplement Link summoning with Rokkets as they all share the same attributes and monster types. If possible, this will be an Engine line that combines very well with Rokket (there will be an article instructing you on how to play this ^^).

  • Both cards complement each other, BMD searches for Darkness, Darkness summons itself by removing an unnecessary body, brings it back to BMD, uses BMD to replenish its ATK to punch or uses both million Return Link (depending on how you use it)
  • Since the search attribute makes it more useful, you'll want to bring 3 copies of the BMD.

The Engine Dragonmaid line provides good backrow support for you by giving you the option to return cards to your hand, helping OTK. Not to mention the effect of returning cards over and over helps you recycle your resources well. Both cards I'm recommending should be carried in 1-3 copies of your choice.

Starliege Seyfert (2-3x)

It would be wrong not to use Seyfert to search for the Rokket or Chaos you need. A very useful card to start simple combos, and is also quite good for reusing your synchro or Levi. No matter how you use it, this is still a good card, so use 2 to 3 copies.

Omni Dragon Brotaur (0-1x)

Omni is just a very situational support card, but the ability to search and fill Chaos' graves is also very useful. In some builds, I will only use 1 copy of it or sometimes none at all. However, I think you should also know its existence.

Fantastical Dragon Phantazmay (2-3x)

Its summoning conditions sometimes make it a pretty good handtrap. Provides a body to hold the field and at the same time gives you a few more draws corresponding to your opponent's Link monster, and at the same time edit the cards in your hand if not satisfactory. Not to mention, it negates any of your opponent's card effects at the cost of just 1 card. Due to its usefulness, it is best to bring all 3 cards (at your discretion).

Gateway Dragon (2x)

Gateway Dragon

If compared to Rokket Caliber , Gateway is also a serious competitor for you to consider whether or not to include in your deck. The special summoning ability is not discussed, what is worth it is the ability to quickly summon a monster in your hand to defuse your combo, which deserves to help it have a place in the deck.

Spell

Dragon Link does not really rely on Traps but will lean more towards OTK, with more flexible movement. That's why we will only use Magic to increase the stability and flexibility of the deck, but also because of that, the control ability of the deck is very weak.

Boot Sector Launch (1x)

Boot Sector Launch

Boot Sector Launch

The main environmental magic card of the Rokket series, sought after by Striker Dragon , but also because Striker Dragon was nerfed and limited to 1, it is best to only use 1 to 2 copies of it (usually 1 ).

  • Continuous effect increases ATK by 300 per Rokket.
  • The 1st effect helps summon up to 2 Rokkets from your hand.
  • The second effect summons all Rokket monsters with different names from the grave to the field if your opponent controls more monsters than you.
* Note: When using Boot Sector Launch , you need to remember that you can only use 1 of those 2 effects once per turn, meaning you can only use 1 effect in 1 turn. So, please choose wisely. Otherwise, you can use Tracer to get rid of this card after using its effect.

In addition to the ability to provide body for defense, you can quickly use it to quickly Link to your main monster. Because it is not limited to 1 effect per turn, this is the main searcher to use in this deck. Techs

It would be good to have some measures to protect your monsters, making them resistant to effects and sometimes helping them avoid dangerous situations. Normally, you should use handtraps to ensure the activation of those effects rather than using Traps.

The best part of a Dragon Link deck has come - Extra Deck, where genuine Link dragons will take the spotlight more than anything else. Let's take a look at them!

Striker Dragon

The first category is the fast environmental magic search cards: Striker and Romulus.
  • The first is Striker Dragon , searchable for Boot Sector Launch , has a recycling effect using Rokket in the grave (such as Rokket used to Link nos0.
  • Next is Romulus, which searches for Dragon Ravine and extends your summons if a monster is summoned to the box its Link Marker is pointing at.
However, it is best for both to use 1 copy in the deck to leave room for other monsters.

Both monsters provide good support for the Rokket line and are good starters when starting with Link 2.
    • Dillingerous has an ineffective first effect because your opponent usually won't be careless enough to not attack with all the monsters they have. Meanwhile, we will just want to use its regeneration effect more so that Link can quickly get to the monster you need.
    • Quadborrel has more flexibility when it can turn on a monster on the field (you can use your field) to bring Rokkets from the grave back to the field.

Xyzing them depends on the situation, for example, Dark Armed to push removal effects, Red-Eyes to have a main monster that resists effects and pushes burn damage.

This simple combo will start with 4 cards in hand: Chaos Space , Rokket Tracer , Absorouter Dragon and 1 other monster (usually DARK type).
    • Use Chaos Space to send 1 DARK monster to the Graveyard and add Wyverburster to your hand.
    • Summon Wyverburster by banishing that monster, then summon Link to Striker. When Wyverburster goes to the grave, he will bring Collapserpent to his hand.
    • Striker will bring Boot Sector Launch to your hand, you will use Boot Sector Launch 's first effect to summon Tracer to your hand.
    • Tracer will use his effect to activate 1 Boot Sector Launch and summon Recharger to the field;
    • Or if you want to keep the Boot Sector Launch , you can summon Collapserpent to the field and use Tracer to turn it on, but before doing so, remember to use Chaos Space to recycle the Wyverburster first so Collapserpent can bring it back to your hand!
    • Summon Absorouter to the field when there is 1 Rokket on the field.
    • Link uses Striker and Tracer or Recharger to create Quadborrel Dragon (Remember, summon it into the Link box on the right).
    • Use the remaining Rokket to Link out to Pisty (summon it to the box next to the left of the box Quadborrel Dragon is pointing at).
    • Quadborrel can destroy the opponent's Link monster and summon Rokkets from the hand and grave, Pisty can bring a Dragon to the box he and Quadborrel are pointing at, usually a Rokket or Striker.
    • Summon Link 4 using Quadborrel, Pisty and Absorouter . Absorouter when entering the grave will bring Rokket Synchron to hand (Usually you will want to Link to Apollousa to resist many effects).
    • At this point you will want to normal summon Synchron in your hand to bring back Absorouter and you can synchro out Borreload Savage Dragon .
    • Savage will take 1 Link to equip it, you will want to use Quadborrel to increase the counter by 2.
    • For the monsters brought up by Pisty and Quadborrel, you can use them to link to another monster like I:P, for example, so that you can immediately Link to 1 Flash Charge Dragon to lock the field.
Now, your ideal deck will have 1 Savage, 1 Link 4, 1 Link 2 or Link 3. This will be your fast combo, or if you like, you can still choose to go in a different direction. From this combo, there are many ways to play and develop, so don't hesitate to create your own combo.

    Final thoughts

Now you probably understand why on Master Duel, Dragon Link was nerfed quite quickly after only a short time of release. Flexibility, attack, defense, stability, OTK are all in the deck, and due to relying too much on handtrap, the deck is not a strong control type. If a newbie is wondering which deck to play, perhaps Dragon Link should be at the top of your decks worth playing!
